Meet the Team!

Our friendly and enthusiastic new committee for 2020-21 would like to introduce themselves! We are a small team at the moment but may be looking to expand soon...

PRESIDENT - Lauren Kennedy

4th Year, Marine and Freshwater Biology

"Hi! I’m Lauren, and I absolutely adore my degree and all things ocean-related! My main interests are coral and sharks, and would love a career in researching either of the two! I love diving, and at the weekend you’ll often finding me braving the cold, 30 metres below in the Clyde!

I’ve been a member of Seasoc for 2 years now, and am excited to be involved in keeping up the great work the society has been doing so far. I have lots of ideas to help it further develop and grow!

VICE PRESIDENT - Belinda Collington

4th Year, Marine and Freshwater Biology

"Hi I'm Belinda and I'm a 3rd year Marine and Freshwater biology student. I joined last year to meet more like minded people and I am extremely honoured to be the new Vice President! I applied to study marine and freshwater biology because I want to do my part in saving our extremely sensitive coral reefs! Excited to sea what happens this year (look forward for more puns throughout the year!)"

SOCIAL MEDIA - Helen Fergusson

4th Year, Marine and Freshwater Biology

"Hi! I’m Helen and I’m in charge of social media for SeaSoc next academic year. I was an ordinary member of SeaSoc last year, and have always supported the causes they stand for. I enjoy following the SeaSoc Instagram and I’m looking forward to keeping up the sea creature facts posts as well as coming with ideas for some new, fun content! I’m also excited to try and promote our events as much as possible to try and get more people interested in SeaSoc; it’s a great society and this year’s committee will have to work hard to follow the fab 2019/20 committee!"

3rd Year, Marine and Freshwater Biology

"Hi I'm Lois and I'm going to be the secretary for 2020/2021

I am super excited to be part of the sea society committee! I am studying marine biology and excited to meet other like-minded people who love sea life!"

TREASURER - Caitlin Lamb

4th Year, Marine and Freshwater Biology

"Going into my fourth year, I'm really excited to take on the role of treasurer as part of the upcoming SeaSoc committee. I have always been passionate about marine life and conservation, so I can't wait to help raise more awareness and highlight key issues to help protect these vital ecosystems"
